T. Swager is the winner of the The Centenary Prize 2012, which is awarded by The Royal Society of Chemistry in the United Kingdom to outstanding chemists, who are also exceptional communicators, from overseas to give lectures in the British Isles. Prof Swager will be awarded the prize on November 9, 2012.
E. Yablonovitch was elected to be one of the 220 new members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, which has a 230-plus year history of recognizing some of the world’s most accomplished scholars, scientists, writers, artists, and civic, corporate, and philanthropic leaders. Prof Yablonovitch will be inducted at a ceremony on October 6, at the Academy’s headquarters in Cambridge, MA.

S. Salahuddin will be honored with the IEEE Nanotechnology Council’s 2012 Early Career Award at the annual IEEE Conference on Nanotechnology in Birmingham, United Kingdom in Aug 2012.

A. Khan and C. W. Yeung were selected as the winner of Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship 2012 in May 2012.
V. Rangari was awarded the 2012 Russell Brown Award for Excellence in Scientific Research in April 2012.
C. Hu was awarded the Honorary Doctorate Award by the National Chiao Tung University in April 2012.
T. J. King Liu is the recipient of the 2012 Intel Outstanding Researcher Award in Nanotechnology that recognizes truly outstanding contributions by researchers funded by Intel’s Semiconductor Technology Council and associated Strategic Research Sectors (SRS) in April 2012.
J. A. del Alamo was awarded the 2012 Intel Outstanding Researcher Award in Emerging Research Devices in March 2012.
